For a youth activity at church last month, we made almost 100 large baskets of food and gave them to families in need. It was so much fun having an assemly line of people loading in fruit after fruit. Service feels so good, and I love thinking about the receivers of the baskets. Happy New Year! Brittany Out

My Aunt Andree
November 23, 2009
Last week my lovely Aunt Andree came to visit from Salt Lake City, and stayed with us for five days. I really grew to love my Aunt Andree more then I had before while she stayed with us. Three years ago her husband died of cancer, leaving her with 4 young children. She has remained strong, faithful, and determined through this hard challenge. I really look up to her, and admire what she is doing, day after day. So “One Thing I Love” is my Aunt Andree. Here is a picture of my Mom (right), Aunt Andree (middle) and me (left) after eating a beautiful lunch at our favorite restraunt, Seasons 52 in Atlanta. Such a wonderful time! Can’t wait until she comes back out!

Gum
November 23, 2009
When I am bored, or am doing work, or just watching a movie or something, I pull out a piece of gum. Gum to me is something I really love. It calms me you could say. My favorite kind of gum is Winterfresh. The taste is awesome and I just love chewing on this kind. Every time we go to the grocery store I pick out some Winterfresh gum. It is just something that I enjoy.

gardens
September 15, 2009
Every summer we grow a garden as a family. It takes a lot of time starting with refreshing the soil, planting the seeds, installing the water pipes, tarping the boxes, pulling the weeds, and so on. But in the end it is always rewarding and fun. We are able to eat our own tomato sandwiches (mmm so good just thinking about that makes me hungry), watermelon, dip our own sweet strawberries in sugar, user our onions and spices in our soups and salads, pour our gravy over our own potatoes. And every year we have always had too much for our family that we usually end up selling a lot of our garden or giving bags away to our friends and neighbors. It’s great to enjoy what you have worked hard to earn. I think that’s why Dad sometimes makes us earn what we want even though it wouldn’t be that hard for him to just give it to us. Okay I’m heading to the kitchen to make a tomato sandwich, no joke, ; ) Brittany Out

Pencil and Paper
August 31, 2009One thing I really love is writing. It could be poems, stories, or novels. I have finished about two made up stories and I am currently working on one, it’s called The Time of Swirlz. I definately like writing FICTION stories more than non-fiction. I plan to keep on making stories as I get older and even publish a few! Try writing a story sometime! At least 2 pages! See where it takes you.
